Jakarta-listed PT Budi Acid Jaya plans to allocate between Rp 150-Rp 200 billion in capital expenditure this year to finance the construction of additional biogas-based power plants and a tapioca mill facility.

Company Corporate Secretary Marwati Wongso was quoted on Wednesday by Bisnis Indonesia as saying that the construction of the tapioca mill in Madiun, East Java, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

She added that the company this year plans to develop 3-4 new biogas power plants to add to its existing 8 biogas power plants.  The power plant facility will lessen the company’s dependence on power supply from state-owned electricity firm PLN and helps improve cost efficiency. (rei)
