Sang Hyang Seri to set up new seed mills

State-owned seed producer PT Sang Hyang Seri plans to start this year the construction of two new seed mills in South Kalimantan and South Sumatra.

Company Production Director Yohanes Maryadi Padyaatmaja was quoted by Kontan on Thursday as saying that the new facilities are expected start commercial production next year.

Yohanes said that investment for the new seed mills, which will produce horticulture seeds, is estimated at between Rp 15-Rp 30 billion as the company will import machinery from Germany.

Sang Hyang Seri currently operates 18 seed mills, mostly producing rice seeds located in rice production centers in the country. (rei)
